Vladimir Melnik's style has been described by critics as “documentary with an arty edge”.
His images are dramatic coverage of the most striking events in recent world history with diverse human faces and fortunes. Photography works are well diversified and include images of everything from landscapes of Trans-Himalayas, Bolivian Andean deserts, Tibet and jungles of the lost worlds in Amazonians to indigenous tribes of Papua New Guinea, nomads of Arctic regions and unique events in the middle of nowhere.
We are honored to showcase Mr. Melnik’s photograph “Surfing the Net in the Middle of Nowhere” taken in the internet cafe of the small Moroccan village of Merzouga at the edge of the Sahara desert. The photograph has got Sony World Photography Award 2009 in the category Conceptual & Constructed.
